Crisis Treatment Specialist / Overnight
About the role
We are hiring for a Crisis Treatment Specialist / Overnight position at RHA Health Services. This is a regular opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of people with intellectual, developmental disabilities, and those facing mental health and substance use challenges.
Responsibilities
- Provides direct patient care to individuals with psychiatric disorders in the facility based crisis center
- Ensures the safety and well-being of each patient
- Supports the maintenance of the therapeutic environment
- Follows the plan of care designed to meet the emotional needs of the patients, including safety level checks
- Participates in the quality improvement process
- Verbalizes and demonstrates proper procedures for infection control
- Responds promptly and correctly to codes called
- Demonstrates proper protocols for managing aggressive patients and special precautions
Requirements
- A high school diploma or GED
- Two years’ experience working at the level of health care assistant
- Valid driver’s license and automotive insurance required
- Pre-employment screening: Complete criminal background check, name checked in the registries (OIG exclusions database, Child Abuse Registry, and Offenders Against Individuals with Developmental Disabilities)
- Proof of employment history or references (if required)
- Positions that require driving: Proof of driver's license, driver's insurance, and vehicle, IF required for providing transportation for individuals
Qualifications
Experience must be in the field of mental health. Life experience may be substituted for work experience at the discretion of the supervisor. Some knowledge of addiction and recovery programs is preferred.

Positive and personable demeanor, ability to follow procedures, strong communication skills, and a commitment to patient care.
