Crisis Specialist - (Full-time Evenings)- $5,000/$6,000 Sign On Bonus!
Job Duties
- Daytime crisis intervention services, hours starting at 8 am-7 pm or later.
- Crisis calls may extend past 5 pm, and staff are required to complete the crisis until coverage from the evening shift arrives.
- Sometimes covers nights, weekends, and holidays if schedule or staffing requires additional support.
- Conducts Crisis/Safety Assessment with an ETA of 60 minutes for CCRP or 90-minutes to respond in person for other crisis programs.
- Links clients to necessary resources, e.g., health insurance, therapy, housing, and medical treatment.
- Provides in-home services to identify service needs, assess child and family safety, develop safety plans, and provide services to meet family and child needs.
- Implements services under the guidelines of the practice framework, known as ARC (Attachment, Self-Regulation, and Competency).
- Completes required paperwork within established timelines and Medicaid-compliant documentation.
- Obtains and recertifies for the IM CANS assessment tool yearly.
- Provides transportation for clients in accordance with program guidelines.
- Aids in the integration of all services provided for the client by serving as a central point of communication for service components during crisis.
- Represents the agency at court hearings as necessary.
- Maintains comprehensive client files.
- Utilizes assessment tools to determine the immediate level of care needs and service array for referred clients, which may specifically include determination of psychiatric hospitalization or safe deflection.
- Facilitates linkage to a psychiatric hospital when determined to be needed, and facilitates linkage to transportation services to the psychiatric hospital.
- Completes a Safety Plan or Crisis Prevention Plan at all Mobile Crisis Response events with client/guardian and collateral involvement and under the guidance of a QMHP and LPHA.
- Provides resource information to clients and guardians to assist in crisis management.
- Trains and educates caretakers during crisis stabilization.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- BS/BA Degree required; BSW in human service-related preferred.
- 1-3 years of related experience in child welfare required.

- Proficient computer skills in a Microsoft Suite environment and adaptive skills to expand software application skills as needed.
- Highly organized, yet flexible, and can handle multiple priorities/projects well; ability to manage tight.

About the Role
The Crisis Specialist provides community-based responses, crisis intervention, case management, counseling, and mental health services to children and adults in accordance with the agency's policies and program guidelines. Crisis Specialists work to alleviate or stabilize mental health and behavioral health symptoms of referred clients, which impair their ability to adjust to home, community integration, or maintain living stability. Crisis Specialists also provide crisis responses to 988 calls, and responses can include homelessness, substance abuse, or other community needs. Position provides linkages to resources that will help the client alleviate the crisis. Crisis response services are provided to both adults and youth in the community.

$22 per hour
