Crisis Professional

Location: One Robert Wood Johnson Place, New Brunswick, NJ 08901

Full-time, hourly position (40 hours per week) on a day shift from 11:00 AM to 7:30 PM, including rotating weekends and holidays. Pay range: $29.55 - $36.94 per hour.

About the Role

RWJ is seeking a Crisis Professional to work in the Emergency Screening department in New Brunswick. The Crisis Professional will collaborate with the behavioral health team to provide emergency psychiatric evaluations and dispositions for patients in crisis within the Emergency Department.

Responsibilities

• Serve as an advocate for clients by facilitating connections with personal support systems and follow-up mental health services.
• Apply principles of growth and development to assess each patient’s age-specific treatment and care needs.
• Arrive in the Emergency Department within 30 minutes of being contacted.
• Participate in quality assurance and quality improvement (QA/QI) activities.
• Perform additional duties as assigned; responsibilities may change with or without notice.

Requirements

• Master’s Degree with 1 year of experience in a psychiatric setting post-graduation, or
• Master’s program completion with 2 years of post-bachelor’s experience in psychology, including 1 year in a crisis setting, or
• Bachelor’s degree with 3 years of post-bachelor’s experience in psychology, including 1 year in a crisis setting.
