About the role

Pawnee Mental Health is seeking a dedicated individual to provide direct support and supervision to clients in the Community Support Services Unit (CSU). The ideal candidate will assist in maintaining a safe and secure environment, conduct routine safety checks, and support clients with activities of daily living.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Provide direct support and supervision to clients in the CSU in accordance with individualized care plans.
  • Aid in maintaining a safe, secure, and clean environment for all clients and staff.
  • Conduct routine safety checks and document observations per department protocol.
  • Support clients with activities of daily living (ADLs), including hygiene, meals, and self-care.
  • Lead psychosocial groups and structured activities as directed by clinical staff.
  • De-escalate behavioral crises using trauma-informed and nonviolent intervention techniques.
  • Monitor and document vital signs and changes in client status under clinical supervision.
  • Report client concerns, symptoms, or incidents promptly to licensed staff and/or supervisor.
  • Facilitate admissions, discharges, and transitions under the direction of licensed team members.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation in electronic health records (EHR).
  • Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team, including nursing, therapy, case management, and psychiatry.
  • Uphold confidentiality, ethical standards, and comply with all relevant regulations and policies.
  • Complete and maintain up-to-date required training for this position.
  • Perform all other reasonably related duties assigned by immediate supervisor or other management personnel.

Requirements

  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills using the English language.
  • Basic personal computer skills enabling the entry, retrieval, and use of electronic data.
  • Valid driver's license and automobile liability insurance maintained in accordance with Pawnee policy and procedure.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of the needs and challenges of adults and children who experience Severe and Persistent Mental Illness and Severe Emotional Disturbances.
  • General knowledge of mental health, substance use, and housing systems of care.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Software.
  • Certified in Basic CPR, First Aid, and/or MANDT – if not, will be required to certify at the earliest opportunity.
