About the role
The Crisis Intervention Specialist (CIS) plays a crucial role in providing advanced skills in trauma-informed crisis intervention and de-escalation, monitoring safety and security, and coordinating responses to urgent and emergency situations. The CIS supports the therapeutic, calming, recovery-based, and proactive presence in the program, assisting leadership with safety drills and maintaining facility cleanliness.
Responsibilities
- Provide trauma-informed crisis intervention and de-escalation services
- Maintain safety and security of the facility and its occupants
- Coordinate response to urgent and emergency situations
- Model and teach skills for developing positive relationships and negotiating conflict
- Support families and youth in conflict or crisis while onsite
- Aid in ensuring safety drills (e.g., fire, medical, behavioral health) are conducted and documented
- Assist in maintaining the physical plant to minimize fire hazards
- Respond to medical and psychiatric emergencies using medical code protocols
- Transport individuals to/from CBHC and the CCS site using agency or personal vehicle
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Bachelor's degree preferred
- Minimum of 2 years of direct care or similar role in a behavioral health and/or medical setting required
- Knowledge of trauma-informed care and de-escalation skills required

- Pay Rate: $25.46 hourly, plus differentials for evenings, nights, and weekends!
- Schedule: Part Time, 32 hours with additional pay for evenings, nights, and weekends

Part Time, 32 hours with the following schedule: - Tuesdays 4pm to 12am - additional $1/hourly - Wednesdays 4pm to 12am - additional $1/hourly - Fridays 4pm to 12am - additional $1/hourly - Saturdays 4pm to 12am - additional $3/hourly
