Crisis Intervention Specialist
Job Summary
Per diem crisis rates are as follows: 7a-3p will be $100, 3p-4p will be $100, 4p-11p will be $150, and 11p-7a will be $100. This position offers support to individuals and families experiencing a mental health crisis through assessment, counseling, and case management.
About the role
This role requires a Bachelor’s degree in psychology, social work, or a related field, or 4 years of relevant experience, with a Master’s degree preferred. Experience working with people of all ages in the mental health and/or substance use context is essential. The ability to complete a mental status exam and suicide assessment, along with making appropriate referrals, is also required. Excellent communication skills and collaboration abilities are necessary.
Responsibilities
- Assessment and counseling of individuals and families experiencing mental health crises
- Case management to support individuals and families in need
- Completion of mental status exams and suicide assessments
- Making appropriate referrals for additional services
- Collaboration with internal and external providers to provide comprehensive care
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in psychology, social work, or related field, or 4 years of relevant experience
- Master’s degree preferred
- Experience working with people of all ages in the mental health and/or substance use context
- The ability to complete a mental status exam and suicide assessment on individuals in distress and make appropriate referrals for services
