About the role

The Criminal Justice Information Analyst II position within the Department of Law Enforcement is responsible for conducting research of criminal justice information to ensure compliance with state and federal requirements. This role also involves monitoring the Computerized Criminal History (CCH) workflow and processing tasks within defined timeframes.

Responsibilities

  • Conducting research for accurate and complete criminal justice information by utilizing internal and external databases or making contact with other criminal justice and non-criminal justice agencies.
  • Analyzing, evaluating, and interpreting legal documents in reference to the expunction or sealing of criminal history records.
  • Maintaining regular contact with local, state, and federal criminal justice, other criminal justice agencies outside the state of Florida, and non-criminal justice agencies for the purpose of gathering required documentation.
  • Processing requests for the dissemination of records in compliance with state statute as requested.
  • Maintaining security and integrity of data housed within the department databases.
  • Performing additions, deletions, and modifications of criminal history as required or in compliance with court orders.

Qualifications

This position requires meeting and maintaining National Crime Information Center (NCIC)/Florida Crime Information Center (FCIC) certification as required. Knowledge of the principles and techniques of effective communication, the criminal justice system, and the methods of data collection is essential. Ability to collect, evaluate, and analyze data, utilize problem-solving techniques, operate computers and other office equipment, monitor criminal justice information activities, and communicate effectively are also required.
