Criminal Intelligence Analyst - Limited Service
About the role
The Vermont Intelligence Center is seeking a Criminal Intelligence Analyst to contribute to enhancing public safety and homeland security in Vermont. Key responsibilities include conducting research, gathering information, supporting criminal investigations, analyzing intelligence, and developing and presenting intelligence products.
Responsibilities
- Conduct research and gather information from multiple sources.
- Provide case support to criminal investigations.
- Analyze and interpret intelligence related to crime and security concerns.
- Develop written intelligence products that inform decision-makers and partner agencies.
- Present intelligence briefings to law enforcement, elected officials, and other local, state, and federal stakeholders.
Requirements
This is a dynamic role that requires collaboration across agencies and ensures community safety and resilience. The position supports a high volume of requests with tight deadlines and exposure to potentially distressing material.
Qualifications
- A minimum of an Associate's degree in criminal justice, data analysis, public administration, or a related field.
- Three (3) years or more of relevant experience in law enforcement, records case management, public safety systems, or public safety research.
Skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access).
- Proficiency with analytical software.

Schedule
Duties are performed largely in an office environment but may require driving to training locations and working outside of normal office hours.
