Essential Duties
- Assists law enforcement by researching computer databases, reviewing active public safety events, and analyzing criminal statistics
- Tracks and reviews case files, incident reports, criminal complaints, and other material in order to analyze criminal activity
- Prepares, edits, and distributes crime bulletins and 'bolos' to keep proper departments and agencies informed of possible criminal activity
- Communicates information to various law enforcement personnel via radio, telephone, or electronic means
- Affords situational awareness to public safety personnel through the utilization of map-based programs
- Affords assistance in maintaining case files documentation such as wire taps, interviews, surveillance, reports and ensures compliance with federal guidelines
- Prepares case documentation for trial and/or predictive analytical reports and presentations detailing criminal activity, forecasting crime patterns, and developing target profile analysis within the County to assist with the allocation of resources
- Affords assistance in executing wiretaps, surveillance, and other investigative research operations
Minimum Qualifications
- Associate's degree in criminal justice or a related field
- One year of experience in an analytical capacity or one year experience in a law enforcement capacity
- An equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above
Other Requirements/Information
- Valid Driver's License from state of residency
- This position requires work on various shifts, weekends, holidays, or other periods
