- 1st Shift: Wednesday - Sunday, 4:15 AM - 12:30 PM
Job Summary
- Responsible for machine operation and crew in a light industrial setting.
- Manage machine team to ensure proper and safe operation of assigned equipment.
- Ensure goals are being met, crews have tools and resources needed, and issues are communicated to Supervisor.
- Monitor production and material handling processes.
- Apply advanced troubleshooting skills and perform basic maintenance on assigned machines to improve quality and performance.
- Assist crew members when needed.
Key Duties/Responsibilities
- Production: Monitor performance of machines and personnel. Provide feedback to personnel. Ensure goals are met, crews have tools and resources needed, and issues are communicated to Supervisor. Ensure processes are followed for production and material handling. Apply advanced troubleshooting skills and perform basic maintenance on assigned machines to improve quality and performance. Assist crew members when needed.
- Crew Leadership/Training: Organize crew activities and delegate assignments. Train and develop all crew members.
- Quality and Waste: Monitor product quality for correctness and report when errors occur. Monitor print and bundle quality. Make adjustments as necessary to correct quality issues. Monitor product waste and take steps to reduce or eliminate spoilage and doubles.
- Communication/Record Keeping: Maintain accurate record keeping (e.g., safety audits, packages per hour, labor hours per thousand, and other logs or forms). Communicate personnel issues to the Supervisor. Inform other Operators/Supervisors of pertinent information and communicate to other shifts as necessary.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Education: High School Diploma or GED (Preferred)
- Experience: 3-5 Years related experience
- Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: Ability to multi-task. Ability to lead as a cell leader (multiple machines). Ability to work in a fast-paced environment (varying upon equipment). Attention to detail. Effective communicator (share equipment knowledge, quality, and safety concerns). Ability to troubleshoot machine problems. Mathematical skills, and advanced skills in production reports. Basic computer skills, technical skills may vary based on the equipment. Ability and knowledge to operate a pallet jack. Strong knowledge and understanding of machine and manufacturing operations. Ability to speak and communicate effectively utilizing the English language (Preferred).

- Lead, coach and maintain open communication with other production team members.
- Participate in the Team Business Meetings.

- Work prioritization to meet production commitments and goals.
- Machine staffing assignments.
- Machine processing speed.
Physical Demands/Working Conditions
- Frequently carry up to 15 lbs., push and pull up to 40 lbs., twist, stand, walk, reach, and grip/grasp throughout the shift.
- Squat and kneel.
- Work in a fast-paced environment (varying upon equipment).
- Exposed to moving mechanical parts, airborne dust, paper particles, and industrial lift trucks.
Additional Information
- The national pay range for this role is $19.75 - $32.10 hourly.
- The pay range may be slightly lower or higher based on the geographic location of the hired employee.
- The actual pay offered may vary based upon, but not limited to: education, skills, experience, proficiency, performance, shift and location.
