Crew Leader - Wet Utility, Richmond Area

Full‑time, non‑exempt position located at the job site. Reports to Superintendents & Project Managers. Schedule: Monday – Friday, some Saturdays.

Responsibilities

• Excavates trenches for water, sanitary sewer, and storm sewer
• Installs trench boxes as necessary
• Operates equipment in compliance with Muller's safety policies and OSHA procedures
• Ensures proper excavation and compaction procedures are performed
• Maintains all equipment by performing daily inspections and greasing at required intervals
• Demonstrates a working knowledge of underground utilities
• Performs other related duties and responsibilities as required to complete the job
• Manages quality control and production
• Trains team members as needed in a hands‑on manner

Qualifications

• Must be able to communicate directly with clients
• 1 year of experience or more with wet utility
• Must be able to operate large excavators with precision
• Valid driver’s license
• Ability to work in confined spaces
• Ability to access secured facilities
• High attention to detail

Physical Requirements

• Physically fit to perform duties in all environments and conditions, including heavy lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling up to 50 lb.
• Regularly required to sit and stand; use hands and fingers; handle or feel objects; verbally communicate and listen.
• Additional physical tasks: walking, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, bending, or crawling.
• Vision requirements: distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
