Basic Purpose of the Job
Under general direction, performs heavy manual labor and equipment operation for the repair, maintenance and installation of the water distribution and wastewater collection systems. Maintains a safe work environment.

Job Requirements
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
- Experience performing maintenance, public works operations, or construction work in the assigned area of responsibility
- Working knowledge of water distribution systems, sanitary sewer collection systems, and maintenance of those infrastructures
- Ability to read and interpret basic maps and blueprints
- Knowledge of standard construction practices relating to water systems and waste water collection preferred
- This position is subject to non-standard working hours including nights, weekends, and holidays
- Current Colorado Class A or B Commercial Driver’s license with Tanker and Airbrake endorsements preferred; must be able to obtain within 90 days of start date; must have acceptable driving record
- Traffic control Flagger certification
- Entry - Ability to obtain CCWP Level 1 certification in area of primary responsibility within two (2) years

- Frequent lifting, carrying, walking and standing, hand/eye coordination
- Climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
- Hand/eye coordination for operation of personal computer, and use of hands to handle small parts
- Vision for reading and preparing written reports and documents
- Frequent speech communication, hearing and listening to maintain communications with employees and citizens
- Requires driving and walking during inclement weather
- Frequent exposure to outside weather conditions, wet and/or humid conditions, moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, extreme cold and extreme heat, and vibration
