About the Role

This position reports directly to the Credit Review Director or Credit Review Group Manager. The Credit Review Team Leader Sr. leads a team in various credit risk review engagements and continuous monitoring activities associated with a strong independent credit review and/or similar credit risk management function. The role requires a proven track record in a Credit Review management role or similar leadership position, with demonstrated exceptional delivery results within a demanding environment.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the departmental subject matter expert in credit risk for one or more segments within the commercial and/or consumer portfolios, and possess general knowledge of lending support area practices impacting credit risk within the financial services industry.
  • Develop and maintain working relationships with executive bank management, regulators, segment leadership, and the broader Credit Review team to execute review responsibilities effectively and efficiently.
  • Contribute to the development and execution of Credit Review’s annual and strategic plans.
  • Participate in monitoring credit-related risk throughout the Bank and the Holding Company, including subsidiaries.
  • Provide technical guidance for integrated credit review engagements.
  • Develop and manage a credit review program assessing the management framework for selecting, underwriting, and administering direct and indirect credit risk inherent in products/services, adherence to policies and procedures, compliance with legal and regulatory requirements, and evaluate results to identify issues and improvement recommendations.
  • Coordinate with the management team to develop credit review objectives and related procedures addressing relevant credit risks.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of Credit Review tools and methods.
  • Identify and communicate emerging risk issues to enhance credit risk management practices across the enterprise.
  • Provide senior management and the Board of Directors with information regarding the identification, measurement, and management of credit risk through Credit Review leadership presentations.
  • Represent Credit Review in risk meetings with business segments, affiliates, executive leadership, and the Board as necessary.
  • Monitor annual plan progress, engagement budget/staffing, and recommendation status and follow-up related to areas of responsibility.
  • Serve as subject matter expert or engagement-in-charge on special projects or targeted reviews outside of traditional exams.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree.
  • 10+ years of progressively responsible experience in credit review, risk and/or credit risk management, portfolio monitoring, underwriting, and/or analysis, including a management role.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Strong working knowledge of risk and/or credit risk management and control frameworks.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to engage in difficult conversations and manage multiple engagements/projects simultaneously.
  • Prior Credit Review and/or risk officer experience.
  • Project management skills and ability to deliver high-quality results while meeting deadlines, department, and personal goals.
  • Technical accounting (GAAP) or financial statement analysis knowledge.
  • Working knowledge of MS Access, Excel, Word, and credit/statistical analysis tools.
  • Conflict management experience.

Schedule

This is an exempt position (not eligible for overtime pay).

Certain positions outside our branch network may be eligible for a flexible work arrangement, combining in-office and work-from-home opportunities. Specific work arrangements will be provided by the hiring team.

Pay

The compensation range for this position is $125,000–$255,000 annual salary. Actual compensation will vary based on factors including location, experience, and education. Colleagues in this position are also eligible to participate in an applicable incentive compensation plan.
