About the role

The Credit Analyst III/IV is responsible for analyzing credit information on current and potential borrowers, managing a portfolio of existing loans, and identifying new lending opportunities. This role ensures compliance with all Bank policies, procedures, and applicable state and federal banking regulations while promoting business through customer relations and referrals.

Responsibilities

  • Independently manage a loan portfolio and customer base.
  • Service a variety of business loans in an assigned portfolio.
  • Assist Relationship Managers in pre-qualification assessments and financial risk analysis within the Bank’s credit framework and current economic trends.
  • Prepare spreadsheets and analyze financial information, including financial statements and tax returns.
  • Compile data from credit bureaus, conduct industry peer comparisons, and perform cash flow analyses.
  • Underwrite loan requests, recommend loan structures and terms, and review/renew credit facilities.
  • Perform annual loan reviews to ensure accurate risk grading.
  • Mentor support staff and peers, providing coaching and development.
  • Assist Regional Presidents, Division Managers, and Relationship Managers, including accompanying them on customer calls as needed.
  • Maintain knowledge of compliance procedures, particularly BSA/AML/CIP regulations.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree (BA or BS) and four to five+ years of direct lending experience or equivalent combination.
  • Strong customer service orientation with a focus on placing the customer first.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, along with strong organizational and time management abilities.
  • Working knowledge of credit risk principles, loan documentation, and regulatory expectations.
  • Proficiency in Excel and experience with nCino or similar loan origination/credit systems preferred.
  • Detail-oriented with a strong ability to analyze and synthesize large amounts of data.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision.

Pay

Target compensation: $78,143 - $121,318 annually, depending on experience.
