About the role
Responsible for accurately analyzing personal and business financial information and underwriting new and existing loans and relationships according to the bank’s guidelines and policies.
Responsibilities
- Prepares high-quality loan presentations and ensures accuracy of financial and other analyses for commercial banking, commercial real estate, and private banking.
- Analyzes rent rolls, leases, operating statements, tax returns, personal financial statements, and other related material.
- Prepares a variety of analyses and risk identification including borrower cash flow, global cash flow, property cash flow, sensitivity, market/industry research, etc.
- Affords credit ratings based on a thorough risk assessment of the request and/or existing loan.
- Assists loan officers regarding credit worthiness while identifying proper loan structure.
- Identifies risk in the underlying loan requests- including but not limited to: operational risk, financial risk, market/industry risk, collateral risk, management risk, etc.
- Stays informed about the legal, compliance, lending activities, competition and economic and market-risk related issues involved in the approval of credit.
- Requests and attends meetings with customers to gather and evaluate financial and related data to establish credit worthiness.
- Makes recommendations and assists with the development & revisions of Loan Policy, Supplement to Loan Policy, and Loan Procedures, as requested by manager or management team.
- Performs analysis for various vendors of organization as requested.
- Prepares various reports regarding the commercial loan portfolio, including but not limited to concentration reports, industry updates, and others as requested or required.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications/Requirements
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Able to conduct research and write the substance of an analysis in narrative form
- Able to participate in customer meetings with or without a lender and communicate effectively with business owners to extract useful information in a professional manner
