Responsibilities
- Coordinate and prepare medical staff functions; takes minutes at committee meetings, processes and distributes correspondence, and assists with the credentialing and privileging process.
- Ensures compliance with accrediting and regulatory agencies (Joint Commission and NCQA).
- Maintains confidentiality of business/work and medical staff information.
- Manages the flow of information between medical staff services, Credentials Committee, and MEC Committee, and assists with the Chief Medical Officer.
- Manages the FPPE process and the integration of OPPE during reappointment.
Qualifications
- Associates Degree preferred or equivalent combination of education and related experience.
- Minimum of three years in a healthcare setting performing credentialing, privileging, and medical staff services functions required.
- Good verbal, written, and telephone communication skills.
- Multi-tasks, pays close attention to detail, and has strong interpersonal skills.
- Strong computer experience with database management, Microsoft Office, and Windows applications.
- Experience with Joint Commission and other healthcare regulatory bodies.
- CPCS or CPMSM certification preferred.
