About The Role

Under general supervision, performs the credentialing functions related to the initial and/or reappointment process for all LifeBridge Health providers. Provides administrative support to Credentialing Committees at LifeBridge Health System Hospitals as necessary. New credentialing database, CREDENTIALSTREAM!

Key Responsibilities

  • Manages the documentation of the initial and/or reappointment application process at all LifeBridge facilities.
  • Performs administrative duties and verifications within established policy and procedures and State and Joint Commission requirements.
  • Initiates sending reappointment packet to providers and processes initial appointments based on departmental assignments.
  • Completes required data entry into provider database.
  • Completes required verification of information for assigned credentials files.
  • Maintains accurate automated data files and ensures the complete and accurate maintenance of credentials files in assigned areas.
  • Upon file completion, prepares credential file for Chief's signature.
  • Prepares credential files for review at hospital specific Credentials Committee meetings.
  • Tracks credentialing information through various committees.
  • Works on special projects as needed.
  • Verifies accuracy of required information. Specialist will verify via primary source (when possible) for each application: Current/prior hospital affiliations; Professional references; All completed verifications will be filed in the credentials file in appropriate order.
  • Maintains a comprehensive credentialing database and prepares reports from physician profiles.
  • Maintains accurate automated data files for assigned credentialing departments at all times.
  • Prepares a variety of reports utilizing the credentialing software.
  • Responsible for independent reporting to track necessary department-assigned providers receive applications in a timely fashion and are followed-up on according to established departmental timeframes.
  • Specialist is responsible for querying reports and tracking files monthly.
  • Displays quality customer service to internal and external customers.
  • Responds to customers within one business day.
  • Displays an understanding and awareness of the Hospital's Mission and Vision Statements.
  • Displays a commitment to the value of teamwork by building strong relationships with internal and external customers.

Requirements

  • Education: HS Diploma/GED required, AA degree preferred.
  • Experience: 1-3 years of prior credentialing experience preferred. Will consider candidates with payer enrollment experience.
