About the role
Credentialed Veterinary Technician | West Chelsea Veterinary, New York, NY
Responsibilities
- Partner with veterinarians and teammates to deliver exceptional patient care.
- Prepare and monitor patients for surgical and dental procedures.
- Administer treatments, medications, and nursing care as directed by the veterinarian.
- Collect and process laboratory samples, including blood, urine, and fecal tests.
- Obtain diagnostic imaging, including dental radiographs.
- Perform venipuncture and place intravenous catheters.
- Maintain accurate medical records and support client communication.
- Educate pet parents on medications, treatments, preventive care, and post-operative instructions.
- Maintain and prepare medical equipment, treatment areas, and surgical suites.
- Support a compassionate, collaborative, and patient-focused hospital culture.
Requirements
- 1 to 2 years of experience as a credentialed veterinary technician.
- A calm, confident presence with animals and the people who love them.
- Strong communication skills with both clients and teammates.
- Organized and detail-oriented with a genuine commitment to patient care.
- Comfortable in a busy, fast-paced hospital environment.
- Eager to keep growing your skills and learning from those around you.

Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Current certification as a Veterinary Technician (VTS).
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
Skills
- Excellent communication skills.

- Knowledge of veterinary medical terminology and procedures.
- Basic computer skills.

Pay
The compensation range for this position is $27.00 - $31.00 per hour. Final compensation will be commensurate with experience.
Schedule
Full-time, 8-hour day shifts. Rotating weekends. No holiday work required.
