Responsibilities

• Deliver targeted instruction in reading or math to support elementary and/or high school aged students.
• Provide 1:1 or small-group tutoring using provided curriculum, evidence-based strategies, and educational technology.
• Support Special Education students by implementing accommodations and interventions aligned with their Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).
• Differentiate teaching strategies to meet diverse learning styles, academic needs, and developmental levels.
• Maintain effective classroom management to foster a safe, engaging, and conducive learning environment.
• Track student progress and adjust instruction to promote academic growth and skill mastery.
• Prepare lesson plans for sessions during designated preparation time.

Requirements

• A teaching credential issued by the state of Florida
• A bachelor's degree accompanied by a Statement of Eligibility issued by the Florida Department of Education (ESE Certificate)
• Classroom experience teaching or supporting reading instruction
• Experience with Special Education students
• Experience using the Science of Reading or willingness to be trained in this
• Ability to complete the fingerprinting process within 48 hours of an offer

• Are detail-oriented and highly dependable
• Are an effective communicator
• Have reliable transportation
• Can provide a negative tuberculosis test within 2 weeks of being hired
