Job Summary
BluePearl Pet Hospital is seeking a Veterinary Technician to join their Internal Medicine department. This position works closely with the Emergency department and requires strong multitasking skills in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
- Assist with advanced procedures including endoscopies and other minimally invasive diagnostics.
- Clean and maintain equipment following procedures.
- Calculate and administer fluid therapy, and administer medications.
- Place nasogastric tubes quickly and efficiently.
- Induce, monitor and recover anesthesia cases.
- Set up for ultrasound and radiology procedures, including CT's.
- Support management of complex Internal Medicine cases.
- Collect and handle diagnostic samples, and send them to the appropriate laboratory.
- Discharge IM patients from the hospital, including basic client education.
- Help with complex hospitalized cases, working closely and collaborating with our ER and Critical Care team.
- Review all medical records from previous veterinary clinics.
- Create new medical record histories for the Internist.
- Help with general housekeeping and cleanliness.
Requirements
- Strong anesthesia, phlebotomy skills.
- Organizational skills and communication skills.
Qualifications
- Experience with advanced procedures.
- Knowledge of medical math and drug dosages.
- Ability to place IV catheters and nasogastric tubes.
- Experience with anesthesia and ventilators.
- Experience with ultrasound and radiology equipment.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Schedule
This position is Monday - Thursday 7:00am - 4:00pm. The ability to be on-call will be required from time to time.
