Responsibilities
- Edit branded, campaign, and social‑first content from assembly through final delivery, making decisions on story structure, pacing, rhythm, shot selection, transitions, music, and visual flow.
- Take end‑to‑end creative ownership of select projects, from concept and development through production, post‑production, and final delivery, adapting storyboards when footage requires a different approach.
- Proactively identify creative opportunities and weaknesses, proposing and executing solutions rather than relying solely on prescribed edit directions.
- Balance internal creative vision with client feedback to ensure the highest creative standards and client satisfaction.
- Identify missing coverage, weak transitions, continuity issues, pacing problems, and other gaps; develop solutions through restructuring, alternative footage, graphics, motion, VFX, sound design, and AI‑generated content.
- Determine when production gaps can be solved creatively in post versus requiring pickups or additional assets, using post‑production to elevate content beyond the storyboard.
- Utilize generative AI tools for image and video creation, generating or enhancing visual elements, extending shots, creating transitions, filling production gaps, and supporting creative experimentation.
- Integrate AI‑generated assets naturally with live‑action footage and traditional workflows, understanding prompting, image‑to‑video, video‑to‑video, generative fill/extension, and AI‑assisted post workflows.
- Continuously test emerging AI tools and introduce relevant techniques into the team’s post‑production workflow.
- Stay current with trends on TikTok, Instagram, YouTube, and emerging platforms, applying contemporary hooks, pacing, transitions, typography, sound, visual language, and storytelling structures while maintaining premium brand standards.
- Collaborate with directors, producers, creative directors, VFX artists, colorists, motion designers, and sound teams; manage multiple edits, versions, aspect ratios, and deliverables; maintain organized post‑production workflows; participate in creative reviews and communicate editorial rationale.
- Work proactively with production and creative teams to find thoughtful, creative, and efficient solutions to client feedback or changes during the post‑production edit cycle.

About the Role
This is not an execution‑only editing position. The Creative Editor is expected to take creative ownership in post‑production, understanding the original vision, assessing what was actually captured, identifying what is missing, and using editing, AI, and creative problem‑solving to bridge the gap and deliver the strongest possible final content.
