About the role

Directly responsible to the Director of the Communications Division for the production and maintenance of NJEA’s primary member communication vehicles, including the New Jersey Education Association Review, njea.org and other publications or platforms as assigned that may be utilized by NJEA to communicate with members and the public.

Responsibilities

• Ensure that NJEA members receive timely, accurate and useful information through NJEA’s official communications vehicles.
• Report, write, collect, edit and publish news, features, announcements and other information useful to NJEA members in both their professional and advocacy roles.
• Facilitate the use of NJEA’s communications vehicles to encourage and facilitate member engagement on all organizational priorities and initiatives.
• Ensure that NJEA’s communications vehicles are used to advance the interests of NJEA, its members and New Jersey’s public schools, in accordance with NJEA’s mission and goals.
• Train local affiliate leaders and members, as assigned, in the communications skills necessary for them to more effectively communicate with members at the local level.
• Assist local associations with other communications needs, as assigned.
• Perform any other assignment made by the Director of Communications in order to advance the interests of NJEA and its members.

Pay

Starting Salary: $126,586
