Creative Arts Therapist

About the role

The Creative Arts Therapist participates as a member of the care team in planning, providing, and evaluating creative art therapy for the psychiatric patient to enhance the delivery of quality care. The Therapist assesses, develops and plans art therapy activities for patients appropriate to the multidisciplinary plan of care. The Therapist evaluates and documents the patient's response to the program and integrates activities as part of the plan of care, collaborating with other members of the care team to enhance art activities.

Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor's degree in Creative Arts Therapy or Recreational Therapy required; Master's degree preferred.
• Licenses/Certifications: Appropriate license/certification in specific modality required. (Art, Music, Movement, Recreation, Dance).
• Heart Saver/CPR/AED/First Aid Certified required for out-patient setting within 6 months from date of hire.
• Experience: 2-4 years inpatient creative arts experience required. Proficiency in clinical applications preferred at time of hire; incumbents within position will be trained appropriately and then skill will be required for this position within 30-60 days from date of hire.
