Crash Attenuating Vehicle Driver

Key Responsibilities

• Safely operate a Truck Mounted Attenuator vehicle.
• Perform vehicle inspections prior to departure to the job site and when leaving job site.
• Safely position the Truck Mounted Attenuator truck to provide the best protection for workers and equipment.
• Set up and reposition traffic control devices as required.
• Able to follow instructions from Supervisors and other team members.
• Able to communicate effectively with Supervisors and other team members.
• Maintain vehicle cleanliness.
• Able to communicate effectively with motorist.
• Able to use hand signals and direction signs to direct traffic around construction sites safely.
• Able to communicate effectively with other flaggers using handheld radios to direct traffic onto a single lane.
• Assist in removing all signs, barricades and traffic cones upon completion of construction work.
• Assisting in the removal of debris and rubble from job site.

Requirements

• Valid CDL Class B License.
• Possess and maintain a clean driving record.
• Previous experience driving Truck Mounted Attenuator Vehicle.
• Sound knowledge of state traffic regulations.
• Must hold a minimum ATSSA Flagger Certification or willing to obtain it.
• Candidate must possess an OSHA 10 certification or be willing to obtain it.
• Candidate must possess a PowerSafe safety training certification or be willing to obtain it.
• Exceptional observation skills.
• Effective communication skills.
• Able to work independently and as part of a team.
• Able to work in harsh weather conditions.
• Able to stand for extended periods of time.
• Candidate must successfully complete a drug screening, alcohol and background check prior to employment.
