About the Role
Rexel USA, a leading distributor of electrical products and related supplies, is seeking a Truck Driver to join the Mayer Team in Richmond, GA. The Truck Driver will be responsible for delivering products to customers, company branches, warehouses, and suppliers using a delivery van or box truck (no CDL required). The role ensures deliveries meet customer requirements efficiently and that materials are correct and undamaged.
Responsibilities
- Inspect company vehicle for visual and operating defects; complete daily inspection reports.
- Keep company vehicle clean, serviced, and maintained; alert supervisor of needed repairs.
- Follow Department of Transportation (DOT), local, and state driving laws and regulations.
- Load and unload vehicles, ensuring all materials are correct and undamaged.
- Assist in preparing orders for delivery.
- Complete all necessary documentation, including delivery receipts, packing lists, and manifests.
- Pick up material returns from customers, inspect condition, and verify quantities.
- Pick up materials from company suppliers.
- Participate in training and mentoring entry-level Truck Drivers.
- Perform other branch duties as needed, such as counter sales, order preparation, and equipment maintenance.
Qualifications
- Valid driver’s license and at least 21 years of age.
- Pass pre-employment and annual Motor Vehicle Record reviews.
- Obtain a non-expired medical certificate within 60 days of hire.
- No suspended driver’s license for traffic accidents/violations in the past 3 years.
- No at-fault accidents in the past 3 years.
- Ability to handle loads up to 26,000 GVW.
- Strong knowledge of safety regulations and traffic laws.
- Excellent organizational, time management, and customer service skills.
- Attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.
- Willingness to work overtime as needed.
Physical Demands
- Constant sitting, using hands, and talking/hearing.
- Occasional walking, stooping, climbing, and balancing.
- Frequent lifting up to 50 pounds.
- Exposure to noise, heat, cold, electrical hazards, and potentially dangerous equipment.
- Frequent travel to offsite locations.
