Role Overview
The Crane Operator is responsible for the safe, efficient, and precise operation of heavy construction equipment, supporting activities like pile driving, steel erection, and bridge construction. They must strictly follow safety protocols, perform routine equipment maintenance, and execute critical lifts to meet project standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Adhere to safety policies, report incidents, and promote a safety-first culture.
- Complete equipment condition reports and daily work checklists for supervisors.
- Maintain cleanliness and proper functioning of machinery, including cleaning and lubrication.
- Understand utility locations, monitor fuel levels, and communicate supply needs to supervisors.
- Assist with load planning, setup, and control of cranes during lifts, responding to signals and radio commands.
Qualifications & Skills
- Valid crane operator license for the relevant state.
- At least 10 years of experience in pile driving, steel erection, and bridge construction.
- Experience with hydraulic and friction cranes.
- OSHA 10 certification.
