Responsibilities
- Reviews job assignments at the end of each shift and prepares necessary rigging and equipment.
- Completes Field Ticket and submits it to the local branch office.
- Documents the use of other chargeable equipment on the Field Ticket.
- Enters hours worked into the payroll book daily and submits it to the local branch office by 10:00 a.m. on Mondays.
- Communicates with supervisor if not on a job assignment and remains productive by inspecting, cleaning, and maintaining equipment.
- Assists in the training of safe crane operation.
- Periodically reviews and updates service and operation manuals for assigned and other crane models.
- Cleans and organizes equipment in the shop and yard.
- Reads, interprets, and calculates load percentages using crane owner and operation manuals.
- Programs crane's computer in proper setup mode and sets up crane safely and professionally.
- Determines that the signal person understands and performs proper hand signals before lifting the load.
- Uses proper rigging techniques to ensure safe lifting of the load.
- Inspects crane, truck, or trailer and completes vehicle inspection report before operating the vehicle.
- Sets up inspection reports at the local branch office.
- Performs other job duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Current state-issued Commercial Driver License (CDL A with no restrictions).
- NCCCO or NCCER certified crane operating license.
- At least 3 years of operating hydraulic cranes.
- Ability to operate crane by interpreting hand signals.
