Crane Operator

About the role

This position involves operating cranes and hoists to load and unload materials safely.

Responsibilities

• Manipulates or depresses crane controls to regulate speed and direction of crane and hoist movement
• Ensures safety of loads during hookup operations
• Cleans and maintains crane and hoisting mechanism
• Inspects crane for defective parts and reports any issues to supervisor
• May attach loads to hooks or other crane accessories before operating the crane
• Performs other duties as assigned

Requirements

• Able to stand, kneel, walk, lift, bend, stoop, push and pull for long periods of time
• Works ten (10) hours per day, five days (and occasionally six days) per week
• Works outdoors in Florida heat and rain, and around heavy highway traffic areas
