Responsibilities
- Coincide with the development and execution of a preventive maintenance program for the lifting fleet that aligns with the plant's needs.
- Perform maintenance and repairs on lifting equipment such as OSHA/ANSI inspections, brake adjustments, lubrication, wire rope replacements, gearcase maintenance, motor control, PLC, and VFD fixing and replacements, wheel replacements, welding, and fabrication.
- Coordinate with plant personnel and others as needed to organize the shop and facility supplies for ease of accessibility.
- Create material lists for assigned projects.
- Complete shift reports, inspection documentation, work orders, and mobile equipment inspections.
- Review reports, inspections, and work history, then collaborate with teams to drive continuous improvement.
- Illustrate a safe lifting culture by reporting unsafe conditions immediately and supporting corrective actions with a hands-on approach.
- Adhere to and support company quality, environmental, health & safety, and certification standards, including ISO 9001:2015, ISO 14001:2015, ISO 45001:2018, IATF 16949:2016, and ASI Certifications, where applicable.
Qualifications
- Knowledge of industrial plant infrastructure.
- Proficiency with Overhead Cranes, Jibs, Monorails, and Below-the-hook Lifting Devices.
- OSHA/ANSI inspections certification and 2,000 hours of confirmed experience maintaining overhead cranes.
- Overhead crane operator certification.
- Understanding of governing codes and standards such as OSHA, ANSI, CMAA, and NEC.
- Familiarity with motor controls up to 480VAC and 250VDC.
- PLC and VFD experience.
- Mechanical knowledge such as gearcases, sheaves, wheel bearings, drivetrains, and wire ropes.
- Welding and fabrication.
- Ability to read wiring schematics and blueprints.
- Ability to operate aerial and forklifts and work from heights up to 50'.
