Craftsperson - Apprentice (Entry)

About the role

The B. Braun Medical Craftsperson Apprenticeship Program (AP) is a two-tier program designed to provide B. Braun with highly capable, technically focused employees to meet future business requirements. The program is a corporate-driven career development initiative with two tiers to accommodate candidates with differing levels of prior education or work experience.

Tier 1 consists of at least 8,000 hours of on-the-job training and additional hours of classroom instruction, dependent on prior education and work experience. Upon completion, apprentices will become Intermediate level craftspersons in their department.

Responsibilities

• Follow all Company policies and successfully meet all program requirements as defined in the department’s Apprenticeship Program policy.
• Work with limited direction while developing department-specific skills and process knowledge of equipment.
• Read safety rules, instructions for shop tools and equipment, and methods/procedures in mechanical drawing and layout work.
• Write reports and essays with proper format, punctuation, spelling, and grammar.
• Speak before an audience with poise, voice control, and confidence, using correct language and modulation.
• Perform industrial math skills, including computation, calculating angles, circumference, area, volume, and basic algebra (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division).
• Assist with machining functions of production and support equipment under the supervision of a Mold Shop mentor.
• Manufacture assembly machine components, tooling, fixtures, and jigs.

Requirements

• Minimum of one year of technical school education.
• Two years of related field experience for participation in the B. Braun Apprenticeship Program for Mold Shop.

Pay

The salary range for this role is $30.28/hour. The range considers factors such as skill sets, experience, training, licensure, certifications, and business needs. Compensation decisions depend on individual circumstances.

Schedule

Yellow Team, 3x12 shift: 6:00 PM to 6:00 AM.
