About the role

The Craft Recruiter is responsible for building talent pipelines for early career craft positions through high schools, technical colleges, community colleges, and other workforce development partners. This role supports Brasfield & Gorrie’s Field Apprenticeship Program by identifying and attracting individuals interested in a career in construction, promoting available pathways into the trades, connecting candidates to internship and apprentice opportunities, and building strong relationships with school and community partners to support early-career recruiting efforts.

Responsibilities

  • Relationship Building And Pipeline Development
    • Build and maintain relationships with high schools, technical colleges, community colleges, apprenticeship-related programs, workforce boards, and other community partners to develop entry-level craft talent pipelines.
    • Serve as a primary point of contact for school counselors, instructors, career coaches, and program leaders connected to construction and skilled trades pathways.
    • Develop and maintain relationships with prospective students, interns, apprentices, and other early-career candidates.
    • Partner with field leaders, hiring managers, and craft operations teams to understand workforce needs and align apprenticeship recruiting efforts with business demand.
    • Work closely with internal teams to promote the Field Apprenticeship Program and create awareness of career opportunities in the skilled trades.
    • Travel to schools, career events, jobsites, and offices as needed to support apprenticeship recruiting efforts within assigned areas.
  • Recruitment And Candidate Management
    • Identify, source, and engage candidates for internship, pre-apprenticeship, and entry-level apprentice opportunities.
    • Screen candidates through phone, virtual, and in-person conversations to assess interest, work readiness, and fit for apprentice-level roles.
    • Guide candidates through the recruiting and hiring process, including application support, interview coordination, offer process, and onboarding assistance.
    • Help educate candidates, families, educators, and partners on career paths available through Brasfield & Gorrie’s Field Apprenticeship Program.
    • Maintain accurate and timely recruiting activity, candidate records, and pipeline data in iCIMS and other systems.
    • Track candidate movement from school engagement through internship, apprentice entry, and hiring outcomes.
  • Planning, Outreach, And Program Support
    • Collaborate with leadership to develop and execute recruiting strategies focused on apprenticeship pipeline growth.
    • Plan and support school visits, career fairs, classroom presentations, signing events, jobsite tours, and other outreach efforts that promote construction careers.
    • Assist in developing recruiting materials, presentations, and messaging tailored to student and entry-level audiences.
    • Coordinate with internal and external partners to support apprenticeship-related events and initiatives.
    • Support ongoing improvement of apprenticeship recruiting practices by sharing market feedback, school insights, and candidate trends.
    • Assist with other craft recruiting initiatives as needed to support broader workforce goals.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of recruiting, workforce development, school partnerships, or talent pipeline experience preferred; construction or craft recruiting experience strongly preferred.
  • Experience building relationships with high schools, technical schools, community colleges, or workforce development programs preferred.
  • Proven ability to coordinate and lead recruiting events, career fairs, school outreach efforts, and community engagement activities.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to connect effectively with students, educators, parents, and internal leaders.
  • Experience working in an ATS and accurately tracking candidate progress and recruiting activity.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple partnerships, events, and candidate pipelines at one time.
  • Bi-lingual (English/Spanish) both written and oral is strongly preferred.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Willingness to travel as needed throughout the area of responsibility.
  • Degree and/or relevant certifications are a plus; High School Diploma/GED required.
