CPRS CARES Clinician PRN/Part Time

Under the supervision of the Crisis Coordinator, the CARES Clinician provides screening, assessment, and intensive therapeutic intervention services to youth and families experiencing high-intensity psychological and emotional problems (e.g., aggressive and defiant behavior due to emotion regulation issues, suicidal/homicidal ideation, family conflicts). The role focuses on maintaining safety and implementing therapeutic treatment plans in a community-based setting, serving as a bridge to other intensive services for approximately 90 days. The clinician is also responsible for therapeutic documentation from intake through discharge.

Responsibilities

• Intensive Therapeutic Intervention
  • Maintain professional, trauma-informed, and empathetic interactions with families and stakeholders.
  • Use critical thinking and risk management skills to assess and develop treatment goals for stabilization and transition to alternative services.
  • Understand and apply knowledge of warning signs and risk factors associated with suicide and harm to others.
  • Develop skills in safety planning, evaluations, diagnosis, and therapeutic interventions for children, adolescents, and families.
  • Plan and administer solution-focused, trauma-informed interventions to maintain safety, build skills, and address problem-solving, communication, and relationship conflicts.
• Case Management
  • Communicate with and provide documentation to the DPBHS team.
  • Engage with stakeholders to maintain a systems-based approach for client stabilization and transition.
  • Maintain complete, accurate, and timely documentation.
• General Responsibilities

Requirements

• Master’s degree from an accredited school in a Human Services field.
• Valid driver’s license and satisfactory driving record.
• Travel to client locations is required.

Preferred Qualifications

• Education/training in suicide risk prevention and intervention.
• Two years’ experience in evidenced-based or evidenced-informed child and family interventions.
• Master’s degree qualifying for licensure in Delaware as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Professional Counselor of Mental Health (LPCMH), Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), or Licensed Psychologist.
