About the role
The Career Preparation Period (CPP) Instructor will teach skills and build confidence for students aged 16-24 at Delaware Valley Job Corps in Callicoon, NY.
Responsibilities
- Deliver engaging Career Preparation Program (CPP) instruction
- Develop individualized achievement and career plans for students
- Provide guidance, mentoring, and support to drive early success and retention
- Evaluate student progress and readiness to transition to next program phases
- Coordinate onboarding activities (orientation, tours, pre-arrival support)
- Maintain accurate case notes and student records
- Create a structured, safe, and positive learning environment
- Partner with staff across departments to support student success
Requirements
No specific educational level or experience is required.
Qualifications
- A High School Diploma or equivalent is required
- A valid in-state driver’s license is required
- Experience in teaching, training, or group facilitation is preferred
- Strong communication, organization, and mentoring skills are necessary
- Ability to manage student progress and documentation is essential
