About the role
Bachner Electro USA is seeking a Financial Controller (CPA) to lead our financial operations and support the success of our construction projects. This role is strategic and operational, serving as a key advisor to leadership while managing day-to-day financial activities.
Responsibilities
- Oversee all aspects of financial management, including accounting, budgeting, forecasting, and reporting.
- Lead project financial controlling: monitor project budgets and actuals, ensure accurate job costing and revenue recognition, and support project managers with financial reporting and variance analysis.
- Manage the general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll functions.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in compliance with US GAAP.
- Cook up month-end and year-end close processes, including audits, tax filings, and third-party relationships.
- Develop and maintain financial dashboards and reports for executive leadership, including variance analysis and recommendations for performance improvement.
- Implement and maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulations.
- Manage and optimize the company’s financial systems.
- Provide strategic input on cost control, risk management, and financial growth opportunities.
- Supervise and mentor a small accounting team, fostering a collaborative and efficient work environment.
Requirements
- Active CPA license strongly preferred
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. Master’s degree preferred
- A minimum of 5 years progressive experience in financial leadership and project accounting, experience in the construction industry would be ideal
- Strong knowledge of job costing, project financial reporting, and construction accounting practices.
- Deep understanding of US GAAP and internal controls.
- Proficiency in accounting/ERP systems; experience with Sage Intacct or Sage 100 Contractor is a plus.
