About the role
Marsh is seeking candidates for a Coverage & Claims Leader in our casualty practice to focus on healthcare clients. This is a hybrid role that has a requirement of working at least three days a week in the office. The individual will serve as Marsh’s National Healthcare Practice subject matter expert for medical professional liability (MPL) coverage.
Responsibilities
- Provide legal and coverage expertise to clients and internal teams.
- Support placement strategy by utilizing coverage and claims expertise and knowledge of industry and carriers to develop coverage solutions that meet complex client needs.
- Guide strong working relations with carriers and/or underwriters to create innovative approaches to unique coverage needs.
- Maintain thorough understanding of changing insurance and risk market conditions and inform colleagues, clients, and carriers of major developments affecting various types of coverage and claims trends.
- Write/draft customized captive policies and endorsements as needed/required.
- Devise new products and innovative solutions that address complex client needs.
- Support clients in their efforts to create and maintain claims processing and captive claims management protocols.
- Provide strategic guidance and advocacy on complex claims issues.
- Consult management on highly complex client issues or trends through clear and concise communication and drive development of solutions to drive excellence in customer service.
- Create and provide training as needed internally and externally.
- Engage in various speaking engagements and author white papers.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree preferred and JD preferred but not required.
- Minimum of 10 years’ of commercial P&C insurance coverage experience in a risk management or brokerage capacity.
- Casualty in addition to Healthcare experience is necessary.
- Working knowledge of Medical Professional Liability insurance coverages is required.
- P&C license needed, or ability to obtain.

Pay
The applicable base salary range for this role is $154,200 to $328,400. The base pay offered will be determined on factors such as experience, skills, training, location, certifications, education, and any applicable minimum wage requirements. Decisions will be determined on a case-by-case basis. In addition to the base salary, this position may be eligible for performance-based incentives.
