Coverage & Claims Leader for the Casualty Practice

About the role

This individual will serve as Marsh's National Healthcare Practice subject matter expert for medical professional liability (MPL) coverage.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for providing legal and coverage expertise to clients and internal teams.
• Supports placement strategy by utilizing coverage and claims expertise and knowledge of industry and carriers to develop coverage solutions that meet complex client needs.
• Guides strong working relations with carriers and or underwriters to create innovative approaches to unique coverage needs.
• Maintains thorough understanding of changing insurance and risk market conditions and informs colleagues, clients and carriers of major development affecting various types of coverage/claims trends.
• Writes/drafts customized captive policies and endorsements as needed/required.
• Devises new products and innovative solutions that address complex client needs.
• Support clients in their efforts to create and maintain claims processing and captive claims management protocols.
• Provides strategic guidance and advocacy on complex claims issues.
• Consults managements on highly complex client issues or trends through clear and concise communication and drives development of solutions to drive excellence in customer service.
• Creates and provides training as needed internally and externally.
• May engage in various speaking engagement and authoring of white papers.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree preferred and JD preferred not required.
• Minimum of 10 years' of commercial P&C insurance coverage experience in a risk management or brokerage capacity.
• Casualty in addition to Healthcare experience is necessary.
• Working knowledge of Medical Professional Liability insurance coverages is required.
• P&C license needed, or ability to obtain.

Pay

The applicable base salary range for this role is $154,200 to $328,400. The base pay offered will be determined on factors such as experience, skills, training, location, certifications, education, and any applicable minimum wage requirements. In addition to the base salary, this position may be eligible for performance-based incentives.

Schedule

This is a hybrid role that has a requirement of working at least three days a week in the office.
