Coverage Attorney

About the Role

Great West Casualty Company is seeking a Coverage Attorney to focus on the motor carrier policy, providing counsel, training, and assistance to various claims departments to foster consistent, efficient, and appropriate claims practices. This position involves preparing coverage opinions and memoranda on claims legal topics, overseeing litigation and declaratory judgment actions, and supervising outside counsel. The role offers a hybrid schedule (3 days in office, 2 days remote) with no billable hours.

Qualifications

• JD degree
• Licensed to practice in at least one state
• Insurance defense, litigation, regulatory compliance, or administrative law experience preferred
• Strong attention to detail with above-average multi-tasking skills and the ability to adapt quickly to situations requiring immediate transition
• Critical and analytical thinking skills for reviewing complex claims issues
• Excellent communication and public speaking skills
