Court Supervisor I
Full-time, exempt position with a salary range of $58,562.88 - $86,985.24.
About the Role
The Judicial Department works to provide equal access to justice, contribute to public safety, and strengthen the rule of law across Colorado. This position supervises and oversees the daily operations of a designated team or employees within the Clerk's Office or court division. The 21st Courts seeks a people-centered leader motivated to serve others and advance the mission of the courts. This role may include working weekends, holidays, and evening hours.
Responsibilities
- Supervises the work of assigned staff, including assigning and prioritizing work, providing guidance and coaching, participating in hiring and termination, and conducting performance evaluations.
- Provides input on policy development and updates processes to new rules and legislation.
- Delivers internal and external customer service, responding to requests and concerns.
- Serves as a point of contact and coordinates changes in court operations.
- Prepares court documents and reports.
- Monitors, reviews, and ensures efficient and effective case processing.
- Performs administrative functions, including case management data entry, reviewing case entries, advanced research on complex cases, processing warrants, and balancing accounts receivable.
- Monitors and schedules juror summons and responds to juror correspondence and requests.
- Identifies and completes projects that strengthen the Court's ability to effectively serve the community.
- Participates in committee work and management meetings.
- Completes required trainings and attends meetings as requested.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Supervisor Responsibilities: Manages and monitors performance for a regular group of employees (1 or more full-time employees), including input on hiring, disciplinary actions, work objectives, performance evaluations, and realigning work as needed. The majority of supervised work is semi-complex.
Human Collaboration: Interactions may involve decisions regarding policy implementation, support of controversial positions, or negotiation of sensitive issues. Contacts may include stressful, negative interactions with the public, requiring high levels of tact and the ability to respond to aggressive interpersonal situations.
Freedom to Act & Impact of Actions: Performs assignments according to judgment, requesting supervisory assistance only when necessary. Special projects are managed with little oversight, and assignments may be reviewed upon completion. Performance is reviewed periodically. Impact of actions is significant.
Fiscal Responsibility: May be responsible for billing, collection, accounting of funds, handling, and balancing of cash.
Requirements
- High School diploma or G.E.D. or additional relevant work experience substituted on a year-for-year basis for the required formal education.
- Three (3) years of experience in court, legal, or administrative services.
Skills
