About the role

The Eighth Judicial District Court is recruiting for a Court Services Specialist #00054404-23800. The position includes serving as a court bailiff, providing courtroom security management, assisting judges, jurors, and other parties during proceedings, managing courtroom equipment, coordinating with law enforcement on inmate transportation, maintaining exhibits, and providing juror customer service.

Responsibilities

• Serves as a court bailiff, providing courtroom security management.
• Assists judges, jurors, and other parties during courtroom proceedings.
• Announces judge's entrance and departure from the courtroom.
• Maintains proper behavior in the courtroom for all proceedings.
• Sets up and takes care of courtroom equipment during proceedings.
• Collaborates with law enforcement agencies on the transportation of inmates to/from the courtroom.
• Maintains and secures exhibits entered as evidence.
• Provides juror customer service and jury management services.
• Coordinates with court monitors as needed.
• May assist with equipment, vehicle management, and safety/security in and around the courthouse.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of general office functions, cash handling procedures, jury service, filing methods, case processing, and specialty court programs.
• Basic knowledge of project management techniques, data collection methods, and research methodology.
• Understanding of the judiciary's general organizational structure and court monitoring procedures and equipment.
• General understanding of the judiciary.
