Court Reporter (Desert Only: Blythe, Indio, and Palm Springs)
About the role
The Riverside Superior Court is seeking a Court Reporter to provide court reporting services using traditional stenographic or voice writing equipment within assigned courtrooms or other court proceedings. The ideal candidate shall possess a current Certified Shorthand Reporter (CSR) certificate issued by the Court Reporters' Board of California, possess real-time skills and report court proceedings at a rate of 200 words per minute.
Responsibilities
- Provide court reporting services using traditional stenographic or voice writing equipment within assigned courtrooms or other court proceedings.
- Report court proceedings at a rate of 200 words per minute.
- May travel to any location within the Desert region (Blythe, Indio, and Palm Springs) as needed.
Requirements
- Possess a current Certified Shorthand Reporter (CSR) certificate issued by the Court Reporters' Board of California.
- Possess real-time skills.
- Travel to any location within the Desert region (Blythe, Indio, and Palm Springs) as needed.
Qualifications
- Experience working as a reporter in a court environment.
- Freelance reporting experience.
- Experience reporting in various types of proceedings such as medical, DNA/scientific, death penalty, construction defect, and personal injury.
- No employment gaps within the last 10 years.
- Finished transcript, 10-20 pages, containing both testimony and colloquy attached to the online application.

At Riverside Superior Court, we offer a competitive annual salary of $132,267.20, reimbursement for annual Court Reporter license fees, up to 12% differential for hours worked performing real-time reporting, a robust benefit plan including medical, dental, vision, disability and life insurance, a pension plan provided by the California Public Employer's Retirement System, and tuition discounts. Additionally, we offer eligibility for Public Service Loan Forgiveness (PSLF) or Temporary Expanded PSLF (TEPSLF).
