Responsibilities

  • Listen to and record proceedings, dialogue, or dictation of reports, correspondence, and other matters.
  • Transcribe recorded material into readable format.
  • Read portions of transcript aloud when requested.
  • Participate in emergency management activities during a local state of disaster as directed by county managers.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED.
  • Certified by the State of Texas as a Court Reporter.
  • 5 years of experience as a freelance or court reporter.
  • Knowledge and familiarity with Computer Aided Transcription (CAT).
  • Provide equipment necessary for “real-time” reporting.

Pay

Starting salary: $130,956.80 annually.
