About the role

The Klamath County Circuit Court in Klamath Falls, Oregon, is hiring a Court Operations Associate (Operations Clerk).

Responsibilities

  • Assist in assuring accurate and timely processing of all Civil, Probate, Family Law, Criminal, Traffic, and Juvenile filings submitted to Klamath County Circuit Court.
  • Affirmatively inform self-represented litigants and attorneys of court procedure and policies as they relate to circuit court matters.
  • Prepare appropriate forms and documents.
  • Affirmatively assure accurate and timely processing of all monies received by the court.
  • Create an accurate case register and record of monetary obligations and payments.
  • Provide backup for other positions in operations when needed.
  • Interact with people at a customer service counter, answering questions and assisting both in-person, by email, or by phone.

Requirements

  • A high school diploma or equivalent.
  • At least three (3) or more years of responsible experience in a moderately complex office or business setting involving the processing of financial, administrative, or legal documents.
  • Any combination of education and experience equivalent to three (3) years of experience that typically supports the knowledge, skills, and abilities for the position.

Qualifications

  • Experience providing customer service to a variety of individuals in challenging circumstances.
  • Experience performing a variety of clerical or administrative tasks in a business or professional environment.
  • Experience maintaining accuracy and meeting deadlines despite frequent interruption or distracting surroundings.
  • Experience explaining processes, procedures, or policies to a wide audience.
  • Experience reviewing documents for completeness and accuracy.
  • Experience identifying and safeguarding confidential information and materials.
  • Experience using a variety of software programs to access and input information and complete various tasks.

Skills

  • Fluency in Spanish is highly encouraged.

Benefits

To You We pay 95% to 99% of medical insurance premiums for full-time employees [OR up to 99% of medical insurance premiums for part-time employees], including mental health coverage. The hourly equivalent for this position is $26.19 - $40.63. [OR The annual salary for this position is $54,464 - $84,501.]

We provide 10 paid holidays, 2 floating holidays, 3 personal business days, separate sick and vacation paid leaves (prorated for part-time employees), and other employee benefits such as optional insurances and flexible spending plans. OJD will pay you a 5% allowance for bilingual skills (includes ASL) if you can pass a skills test and are assigned to use those skills on the job!

In this job profile, we offer candidates new to OJD up to the third step of the salary range, depending on experience. You are potentially eligible for a 5% annual increase.

Working Conditions

  • This is a full-time position, and the work schedule is 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday.
  • This position is eligible for overtime compensation for hours worked in excess of 40 per work week.
  • Frequent phone and in-person contact with people from diverse backgrounds.
  • Frequent phone and in-person contact with people who may be facing challenging life circumstances or highly stressful situations.
  • Regular use of the following equipment: telephone, OJD-assigned computer with multiple monitors, copy machine, fax machine, and scanner.
