About the role

Operates company vehicles and provides courteous and efficient delivery and pick-up of packages; checks shipments for conformance to FedEx service standards; provides coverage for all assigned routes within the station's service area; performs related customer service functions.

Requirements

• Minimum Education: High school diploma/GED
• Minimum Experience: Six (6) months courier experience preferred
• Must be able to demonstrate area knowledge

Qualifications

• Ability to lift 50 lbs
• Ability to maneuver packages of any weight above 50 lbs with appropriate equipment and/or assistance from another person
• Good human relations and verbal communication skills
• Thorough knowledge of the station's service area preferred
• Demonstrated skills in adaptability, dependability, and excellent courier methods
• At least 21 years of age
• Ability to read and speak the English language sufficiently to understand traffic signs, communicate with traffic safety officials, and respond to official inquiries and directions in accordance with FMCSA enforcement guidance

Job Conditions

• Neat appearance due to customer contact
• Must meet and maintain qualifications as outlined in the federal motor carrier safety regulations
• Requires medical exam in accordance with FMCSA or FAA regulations
• Note: Specific requirements apply for any employee operating a company vehicle. Refer to policy 4-48 for exact job requirements
• Must obtain and maintain a valid driver's license in accordance with state requirements for type of vehicle assigned and have a good driving record as outlined in policy
• Non-covered safety-sensitive position
• Ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner

Preferred Qualifications

• Monday through Saturday 9:00am - 6:00pm with a day off to be determined

• Current Hourly Rate: $22.30
• Pay Rate Over Time: $22.30 - $33.84
