About the role
Operates company vehicles to provide courteous and efficient delivery and pick-up of packages. Checks shipments for conformance to FedEx service standards. Provides coverage for all assigned routes within the station's service area. Performs related customer service functions.
Responsibilities
- Lifts and moves packages weighing up to 50 lbs.
- Moves packages weighing more than 50 lbs. using appropriate equipment and/or assistance.
- Communicates effectively with customers and colleagues.
- Demonstrates thorough knowledge of the station's service area.
- Adapts to changing situations and maintains dependability.
- Ensures neat appearance for customer contact.
- Maintains a safe driving record as per FMCSA regulations.
- Meets and maintains qualifications outlined in the federal motor carrier safety regulations.
- Obtains and maintains a valid driver's license.
- Works in a state of alertness and follows safe practices.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- Six (6) months courier experience preferred
- Area knowledge demonstrated
- Good human relations and verbal communication skills
- Thorough knowledge of the station's service area preferred
- Dependable and adaptable
- At least 21 years of age
- Ability to read and speak English sufficiently
