Courier Supervisor

About the role

This position requires a current BSO employee who has completed their probationary period. Two years of relevant experience in clerical support, courier, or high volume mail operations are necessary. A valid Florida driver’s license is required, with no restrictions affecting job performance.

Responsibilities

• Reviews and monitors customer requests and complaints and determines proper resolution.
• Sets up and assigns duties to subordinates and verifies completion of assignments.
• Maintains office supplies and prepares requests for supplies.
• Notifies unit manager of equipment and vehicle malfunctions.
• Affirms the efficiency of operations and recommends and implements changes as necessary.
• Supervises and trains employees in work methods and procedures.
• Determines the need for special attention to operating or technical requirements and leaves instructions for other shift personnel.
• Generates and files various reports and records related to assigned courier function.
• Performs tasks involving the intermittent performance of moderately physically demanding work, including lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling of moderately heavy objects.

Requirements

• Must be a current BSO employee who has successfully completed their probationary period.
• Two (2) years of previous experience in clerical support, courier, or high volume mail operation.
• Demonstrated experience should include supervisory and/or administrative aspects of the work.
• Must possess and maintain a valid Florida driver license without any restrictions affecting job performance.
• Driver license must show current address.
• All candidates must submit a Certified Department of Motor Vehicles "entire" driving history.
• The search date for all driving histories must be within one month of the date the application for employment is received by the Bureau of Human Resources.
• Employees must perform tasks involving the intermittent performance of moderately physically demanding work, typically involving some combination of reaching, bending, stooping, kneeling, or crouching, and that may involve the lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling of moderately heavy objects and materials (20-50 pounds).

Qualifications

An equivalent combination of education, training, and experience may be considered. Such experience must be clearly documented on the application.
