Schedule

Saturdays and Sundays, 2:00 PM to 8:30 PM.

Responsibilities

• Drives throughout the city and surrounding areas ensuring timely pickup and delivery of laboratory specimens, supplies, and other items to and from the Hospital.
• Reviews the client's specimen request information for accuracy and proper packaging.
• Assists with sorting of client reports and deliveries according to specimen type and department required.
• Keeps a daily activity record indicating number of trips, destination, arrival/departure times, and the number of requests.
• Safely transports medical specimens and biohazard materials in accordance with all applicable regulations and guidelines.
• Follows established procedures for packaging, labeling, and handling of materials to ensure compliance with safety standards.
• Maintains cleanliness and organization of vehicle to prevent contamination and ensure safe transport.
• Completes required documentation and paperwork accurately and in a timely manner.
• Communicates effectively with team members and clients to coordinate deliveries and pick-ups.
• Adheres to all traffic laws and regulations to ensure safe driving practices.
• Ability to cover routes during the week if available.

Requirements

• High school graduate or GED equivalent.
• Valid Indiana Operator's license and a good driving history.
• Understanding of the traffic laws of the state of Indiana.
• Ability to communicate effectively and strong customer service skills.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 to 75 pounds.
• Ability to stand, walk, and drive for extended periods of time.
