Purpose
Couriers provide an efficient pick-up and delivery service to support customers while complying with all operational, security, and safety policies and procedures. The role aims to meet service commitments and maximize customer satisfaction. Couriers are critical to delivering customer service across the organization, maintaining compliance, confidentiality, and promoting the mission and philosophy of Austin Regional Clinic.
Responsibilities
- Pick up and deliver items, including vaccines, mail, supplies, lab specimens, and bank deposits, to and from assigned locations in a timely manner.
- Drive a defined pick-up and delivery route as scheduled and at specified times.
- Ensure vaccine and lab deliveries are kept in coolers at the proper temperature and document vaccine deliveries.
- Ensure bank deposits are signed for upon pick-up and delivered to the bank according to company policy and schedule, following bank protocols (e.g., presenting a driver’s license).
- Obey all traffic laws and follow safe traffic and transportation procedures.
- Maintain an on-time delivery schedule while handling occasional STAT requests.
- Maintain professionalism in all interactions, including language, attire, and demeanor.
- Keep work areas and company vehicles clean and orderly.
- Perform routine vehicle maintenance (e.g., oil changes, tire rotations) per manufacturer specifications and notify supervisors of repair needs.
- Adhere to all company policies, including OSHA, HIPAA, compliance, and Code of Conduct.
- Maintain regular and dependable attendance.
- Follow the core competencies set forth by the company.
