Courier (Part Time)

About the Role

We are looking for a part‑time Courier located at 7150 Windsor Dr., Allentown, PA 18106, USA. The incumbent is responsible for obtaining samples from clients and delivering completed reports when needed, supporting our public‑health mission to make food systems safer, healthier, and more sustainable.

Responsibilities

• Exhibit safe driving skills and maintain a driving record acceptable to the company’s insurance carrier.
• Pick up samples from clients at the arranged time and deliver them to the laboratory.
• Provide courteous client service and communicate any emerging client requirements to the laboratory.
• Ensure departmental Standard Operating Procedures are followed at all times.
• Check samples regularly to ensure the correct temperature is maintained.
• Maintain records of mileage, vehicle maintenance, and other important information for departmental records.
• Maintain vehicle cleanliness and perform required maintenance.
• Run errands for laboratory personnel so that analysis can proceed in a timely fashion.
• May assist laboratory personnel with preparation and analysis of samples.
• May assist laboratory personnel with washing of laboratory equipment.
• Support corporate quality and continuous‑improvement processes.
• Identify departures from the quality system or test procedures and document observations in accordance with the prescribed complaint system.
• Adhere to all safety policies.
• Perform other related duties as needed.

Qualifications

• Ability to operate a motor vehicle and a valid driver’s license.
• Demonstrated safe driving skills.
• Strong client‑relation skills for interacting with clients during deliveries.
• Time‑management skills to facilitate scheduled deliveries.
• Ability to maintain the safety and integrity of the sample.
• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent relevant work experience.
• Experience following established delivery procedures and handling routine problems such as traffic delays, samples not ready for pick‑up, or mechanical difficulties.
• Knowledge of the geographic area and ability to adapt routes with little notice.
• Frequent communication with clients to arrange sample delivery.

Physical Demands and Work Environment

• Work primarily in a delivery vehicle and be subject to varying environmental conditions.
• Lifting of up to 50‑pound sample loads required for daily deliveries.
• May work in a laboratory environment requiring a mask, laboratory coat, and insulated gloves.
• Occasional exposure to laboratory fumes, chemicals, and materials.
• Extended periods of sitting while driving.

Pay

$15/hr

Schedule

Tuesday through Saturday, 12 – 5 PM
