Courier (Part-Time)

About the role

Perform a vital part of the patient care process by ensuring that reports, records, supplies, and medical specimens are successfully transported between the laboratory and healthcare provider locations. This part-time opportunity is during first shift.

• Ensure proper specimen handling, transport, and safe operation of a motor vehicle – rain or shine.
• Interact with a variety of clients and commit to customer-focused service.
• Champion safety, compliance, and quality control.
• Incidental exposure to Protected Health Information (PHI); employees will be trained on reasonable safeguards and expected to abide by all applicable privacy, confidentiality, and security standards.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Valid driver’s license and an excellent driving record for the past three years.
• Confidence operating a vehicle in all weather and traffic conditions and navigating routine hazards of the road.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, under time constraints, without close supervision.
• Physical capability of light to medium lifting (up to 50 lbs).

Preferred Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience operating conventional vehicles (cars, trucks, and/or vans) for business purposes.
• Knowledge of medical terminology.
