County Casework Supervisor (Local Government) - Pike County C&Y

About the role

If you have an interest in helping children, youth and families, Pike County Children & Youth Services is actively seeking a Caseworker Supervisor to round out our staff. This is a challenging and very rewarding position in which you will help shape services that protect children and strengthen their futures.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct supervision to caseworkers and support the full range of child welfare responsibilities
• Ensure all casework follows state and federal rules, agency policies, and required timelines
• Oversee each caseworker’s placement reviews, guidance, and ongoing service planning
• Ensure all case documents, plans, and assessments meet state, federal, and agency requirements
• Review and schedule petitions, forms, and casework meetings with legal representatives
• Coordinate case management and counseling services for children, youth, and families facing crises or major life changes
• Supervise the review of suspected child abuse or neglect cases
• Meet with community partners to align services with the needs of children and youth

Schedule

Full-time employment. Work hours are 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday – Friday, with a 30-minute lunch. This position requires on-call and after-hours work as needed. Telework is not an option.

Requirements

• Two years of professional experience in public or private social work and a bachelor’s degree with major course work in sociology, social welfare, psychology, gerontology, criminal justice, or other related social sciences; or
• Any equivalent combination of experience and education that includes 12 college credits in sociology, social welfare, psychology, gerontology, criminal justice, or other related social sciences
• Must meet Pennsylvania residency requirement
• Must pass a background investigation
• Must pass a drug screening
• Must submit and receive approval of satisfactory criminal history reports, including PA State Police clearance, PA Child Abuse history clearance, and FBI Fingerprint clearance
